Australian native flower spotlight

We love incorporating Australian natives into our bouquets. They are hardy, beautiful and have so much character. Some of our favourites are wattle, flannel flower, billy buttons and the candlestick banksia (and Kangaroo paw...and waratahs...and thryptomene). 

Many people don’t realise that Australian native flowers are highly seasonal which makes them difficult to get all year round - and a shockingly large amount of our “native” flower supply gets imported from overseas! 

With people caring more about buying local, and spending more time on home soil people generally have good intentions when choosing natives, without realising that for a good chunk of the year they are being imported from places as far away as South Africa or Israel. Israel actually exports more Australian Natives than we even grow here - how wild!
